CPU, that is oftentimes called just "processor", is an abbreviation for Central Processing Unit. This is the core of each personal computer or server, because it executes each of the calculations and logical input/output functions. Although the performance of an Internet site or an app relies upon other things as well, including the amount of physical memory or the connection of the hosting server, the pace at which a specific processor operates determines how quickly an app will be executed. Later-generation processors have several cores that can significantly increase their overall power and efficiency, because every core can take on a number of processes independently or several cores can take on 1 process that requires a considerable processing power. As every core runs at a specific speed, this architecture can be looked at as numerous individual processors cooperating.
