A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to inactive addresses under the same domain name. For example, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get email messages from acquaintances or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux hosting package with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a given e-mailbox that you’ve got in your account, it’ll take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in your account. You can choose one address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature right away, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once more will disable the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
